Vietnam

Vietnam

How i wished we bought the 3 month visa.  One month is not enough.

First part was in the north.  Train to Hanoi.  Bus to Ha Giang.  Boat in Halong Bay.

Looking back, we would take train to Hanoi and stay outside of Old Quarter.  Bus to Ha Giang and explore more of that region.  Skip Halong Bay and continue south.

Central Vietnam is beautiful.  Beaches and caves in Dong Hoi was perfect especially finding a refuge at Beachside Hostel.  Hue was a highlight because of Viet.  Hoi An was as expected - pretty port town with good shopping but it poured the whole time.

We reached South vietnam via 16 hrs on the train.  We had 4 days left on our visa.  Ho Chi Minh City was one fun filled packed day thanks to Minh Minh's company.  We rushed to Truc's homestay in the Mekong Delta which was also short but memorable.  Chuc Doc was where we stayed for our last night in Vietnam.  We took a bus to the coastal town of Ha Tien in the morning to cross the border into Cambodia.

We want to come back to spend more time in southern Vietnam!
