First Time in 91 Days - Kochi, India

First Time in 91 Days - Kochi, India

Welcome to the first Indian blog! We arrived in the morning, went through customs and security then there we were. IN INDIA. Once arriving, you could tell that you were in India. The smell was similar to China, (probably the smog) and even though it was obvious, there weren't any Chinese people. It was so obvious but in every country we have been in, there were at least a Chinese looking person nearby. Or at least Asian. Here in India, there was either Indian or foreigner.

Note : Some of these photos may have captions so if you're on a touch-screen you literally just need to tap on the photo. The rest of the mouse population, just swipe over the photos. Thanks.

In Kochi, it was near the south end of India where it is HOT. Our air-conditioner is the cause of my body still being intact so during the night to was freezing. We walked around, exploring the areas north of our hostel. There were many old buildings where the it Kochi was ruled by the Portuguese.

Above, there is a short collection of a famous laundromat. Men stand in shin deep water while whacking clothing against slabs of stone to wash them. After, they wring out the clothing as if they had to choke a python (which is very thorough) then hand them on hemp string tied together in a rope braid.

I might prefer to sit in math for a day than sort through this batch.

A whole lot of students have created this art gallery with many exhibition where many people could visit for free. I went for the shade and air conditioner. kidding..

Then we went on the famous backwater tour that the Kerala, Kochi region is most renown for. MISTAKE TO TAKE THE FULL DAY TOUR. We sat inside a calming boat that went as slow as i'm going to run when i climb the Douglas hill next soccer season. (Which is going to very slow, my apologies.) But it was hot and if you don't have good company, i'm not certain what we would do. Sit for 6 hours doing nothing?

But the scenery wasn't terrible and the time to think was alright. Although i would rather do other things.

So during our stay here, we were so lucky to visit when it rained the first time in 3 months (note the blog title.) I was super thankful for the rain and still wasn't tired of it even since in Malaysia, it poured too much for my liking.
