La Perle of Vietnam - Hue, Vietnam
Hey guys let's start with 2 things. La perle is the hotel that we stayed in Hue. So for that reason i found it to be the 'pearl' in Vietnam. I spent most of my time just enjoying the time i had in the city by simply experiencing it. For that reason, i don't have photos anywhere near the amount i wanted for this blog. This blog will be short but hopefully informative.
One, the food in Hue was phenomenal. Two, the hotel we stayed at treated us too well. Three, we had the most amazing 'tour' guide to show us around this city (not so much of a tour but it was great.) It was very pedestrian friendly city. Perfect for us because we walk alot.
So the hotel was called La Perle and they recently opened a few months ago i think, and all of the staff were incredibly nice. When we first arrived, the first thing they did was give us passion fruit juice with a tray of mangoes and pineapple. It was like, you want to give me food right when i arrive? Well count me in for giving you a 5-star review. Yes please.
The rooms were incredibly simple but luxurious. We had two rooms, Mom, Dad, Eli and Lucy in the larger room and Myka and I in the other. Our room had a warm tone of white that made the feeling really comfortable and welcoming. Oh and dragon fruits, bananas, watermelons, pineapples, mangoes were free anytime downstairs in baskets. F-R-E-E.
Should i also mention breakfast had an incredible menu from fried rice to chocolate pancakes. French toast, omelettes, pho, soup, noodles, any fruit drink, coffee, mocha, yogurt, musli, i can't name them all. When you're done choosing your meal and drink, they will return the menu back to you for choosing another meal. AMAZING.
Remember back in the mountain village of where my mom went to spend most of the time in the outhouse? I also forget to mention that we met this lady who arrived when we were just about to leave. She came from Ho Chi Mihn CIty and knew a friend in Hue. That friend was short, all smiles, super friendly and had a unique sense of humour. His name was Viet which is in the word Vietnam (Việt) is a name for males in Vietnamese. Which is funny because at the end of Vietnam, is the word Nam which means 'Male.'
He brought us places to eat and a few sightseeing areas but when he figured out that we were more interested with the food. It went sort of like this,
"Oh." he pauses and blinks " Really? Okay sure!" His smile grows even larger and after a shrug, he tossed the guide that he was reading to us about ancient temples over his shoulder without hesitation. Then happily ushered us to hunt for some food. Of course it didn't really happen like this, but he wasn't the least upset. Later that day he introduced us to his wife. I think we had around 4 days in Hue and they were each well spent either in the hotel or out with Viet.
Or in a resturant.
So i forgot to add some important information in my Dong Hoi blog. But Myka actually lost her glasses at the beach when she put them on the sand before diving in the water to swim. Blaming for forgetting where she put her glasses was a good idea. But she would probably be blaming me for forgetting to add that to the blog. Sorry Mykes.
Anyways, we bought her a nice new pair that are purple. They're nice but her red ones were made in Switzerland and they fit her PERFECTLY. Oh well, live life without regrets and try new stuff. Even if that means to try new glasses bought in Vietnam.
So only 4 days in Hue and wouldn't know how to explain the real joy of being in the city. Meeting Viet was an obvious highlight for our family. And Hue was a really nice place to visit especially with la perle's service and hospitality towards our family.
Alright that's all for this blog. Hopefully the next blog will turn out more better with more photos. Haha. Alright bye!!
